Elaine F. Wingate, MS
Executive Vice President, Clinical Operations (Clinical Monitoring)
Ms. Wingate joined Novella Clinical in 2000 as Director of Clinical Monitoring, and has 23 years of experience in clinical development. In 2001, she was promoted to Vice President of Clinical Operations where she played a major role in the growth and development of Novella Clinical's clinical operations group. In 2002, Elaine was appointed Executive Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance—assigned the task of managing the company’s quality management system. She played an integral part in bringing the company in to compliance to receive ISO 9001-2000 certification in 2004. In 2005, Elaine became Executive Vice President, Operations, and in 2010 began managing the global clinical monitoring operations for the company. In 2011, Elaine was named one of the Executive Business Women of the Year by Triangle Business Journal.
Prior to joining Novella Clinical, Ms. Wingate was director of the consumer health division at a major CRO, where she was responsible for developing a business unit based on Over the Counter (OTC) switch programs. From 1992 through 1997, she held various positions at ClinTrials Research Inc., ranging from clinical research associate to senior project manager. Prior to ClinTrials, Elaine was a clinical research associate at A.R. Kamm Associates, Inc. She has monitored, managed and directed studies in a wide range of therapeutic areas, including gastroenterology, cystic fibrosis, osteoarthritis, hypertension, respiratory and acute renal failure.
From 1988 to 1991, Ms. Wingate was a member of the original Clinical Research International (CRI) team. She received a MS in Administration from Central Michigan University, a BS in Business Administration from Meredith College, and an AS in Business from Peace College.
